Newcomers play an important role in the political, social and cultural life of the community.

When they feel a sense of belonging, they become more engaged and connected.  Our programming helps newcomers develop that sense of belonging, a feeling of security and ease during the settlement process, so that they can develop trust, confidence and pride.

We work to foster this sense of belonging through:

Cultural Bridging

Cultural Bridging fosters cross-cultural awareness between newcomers and the local host community, bringing together diverse cultural groups to share and learn from each other.

Events

We plan and host a number of unique events throughout the year to strengthen our own working community. Most of our events are open to everyone in Saskatoon — the more the merrier! Admission to these events is always free.

Opportunities for the Public and Organizations

There are many opportunities for you and your organization or business to get involved in helping newcomers get settled and find work and become part of our thriving city.

Volunteering Opportunities

Volunteers are a vital part of our organization. Volunteers provide valuable assistance to staff and a link to the community for newcomers. Volunteering with us provides individuals with the opportunity to connect with our organizational community and with others in the community of Saskatoon.
