Creating Memories Together

We plan and host a number of unique events throughout the year to strengthen our own working community. Most of our events are open to everyone in Saskatoon — the more the merrier! Admission to these events is always free.

Some of our most exciting events include:

  • Global Beats: a multicultural music festival
  • Beat & Eats:  YXE’s newcomer youth’s spoken word poetry, electronic music and hip hop dancing
  • International Bazaar: crafts and marketplace
  • Digital Storytelling:  annual short documentary and biopic film event, all films written, shot and produced by Saskatoon newcomer youth
  • Culture Days: interactive artistic and cultural heritage activities for the whole family
  • Special celebrations: BBQs, outdoor activities, etc. 

Other events that are often free or low-cost to newcomers and their families:

  • A tour of the Enchanted Forest
  • Discovery Field Trips in rural Saskatchewan
  • Camping at the Ness Creek Music Festival
  • Attending a Saskatoon Blades hockey game
  • Community gardening
