Indigenous Learning Programs and Activities

Provides newcomers opportunity to meet Indigenous people, learn about local Indigenous culture, traditions and history and participate in cultural activities.

Come learn and participate in activities such as: Pow Wow dance excursions, Birchbark Basket Making and Beading with Indigenous Elders and Knowledge Keepers, Indigenous Learning Workshops for newcomers, and join in community events.

When: Various workshops, classes and activities. Register when announcements made or join the mailing list.
Eligibility: Any immigration category.

Every year, newcomers, SODS staff and volunteers join the Rock Your Roots Walk for Reconciliation. We walk and wear orange to show our support and to honour and recognize the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, their families, and communities.
