The Hub Renovation Project

When the program began in 2019, the Women’s Business Hub initially partnered with the Saskatoon Farmer’s Market to use their space during the week. However, the City’s relocation of the Farmer’s Market from its longtime home at River Landing to a new space near the airport put an end to that arrangement. Forced back to square one, we went in search of a new space that could provide the resources required to run such a program. Eventually, we came across a large commercial space on 1st Avenue that had once housed a furniture store. Seeing its potential, we obtained the funding to transform the run-down former store into a beautiful co-working space featuring a commercial kitchen, a sewing room, two classrooms, and a large meeting area for events. In October 2020, after nearly a year of renovations and upgrades to the space, the new Hub Centre officially opened its doors.
