Why should I join the program?

The program runs for 6 months, with recruitment beginning in July and December each year. Each Cohort class begins in August and January following an intake and interview process.

It consists of weekly 120-minute classroom sessions with practical education to help kick-start your business, one-on-one meetings with business professionals for mentorship and networking, and bi-weekly group coaching sessions


How do I join?

We recommend you first attend an information session to learn whether this program is right for you. If you have a solid idea for a product or business and meet the eligibility criteria, you will be asked to fill out an application. Based on your application, our committee members will decide whether to admit you to the program and notify you of their decision.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The program is open to immigrant women who

    • Are eligible to work in Canada
    • Immigrated to Canada within the last ten (10) years
    • Are either a Permanent Resident or a Canadian Citizen
    • Have English language level CLB 4+
    • Have the technical skills or certification required for your business
    • Have an entrepreneurial attitude.

    International Graduate Entrepreneurs are also highly encouraged to apply.

How will I benefit?

Successful applicants will receive hands-on instruction from industry experts during the 6-month program. It begins with sessions on practical knowledge to help you kick-start your business and one-on-one specialized support from advisors and coaches, followed by mentorship opportunities and guidance from established business professionals. Throughout this program, participants are shown the most efficient ways to make their product a reality and compete effectively in the local market. They also have access to our commercial kitchen, sewing machines, and other practical resources at reduced rates.


How long is the course?

Each course runs for 6 months, with each cohort classes starting twice a year in August and January. The course consists of weekly 90-minute classroom sessions and one-on-one meetings with business professionals for mentorship and networking, along with bi-weekly group coaching sessions.


Is there a cost for enrollment?

A fee of $100 for the first year’s enrollment, known as a membership, which can be renewed each year following. While taking the course, participants can rent Centre facilities for 40% off.


When does the program begin and end?

Intake for the course occurs twice per year in December and in July. Dates for information sessions and application deadlines will be continually updated on our website.


What kinds of businesses do you accept?

We are open to any kind of legal business ideas, products or services.


Is the program offered online?

Our program are offered in person instructional classroom setting However we offer occasional workshops and courses for women entrepreneurs who want to attend online, as well as selling products and services online through our e-commerce platform.


Can I use the centre or resources without being enrolled in the program?

Yes, our centre facilities are open and available for rent to anyone and everyone. However, priority will be given to Women’s Business Hub participants when booking.


Do you have services/resources that are available to non-immigrants?

This program is intended primarily for immigrant women who want to establish their own business. However, when we have the capacity to rent to other members of the community (who are preferably also entrepreneurs), we take the opportunity to generate additional revenue that will help to sustain our project.
