Newcomer Skills Training Centre

The Newcomer Skills Training Center (NSTC) is an initiative designed to support newcomers in building the practical skills they need thrive in their communities. Graduates leave with not only stronger résumés but also the confidence to pursue employment and advance their careers.

About the Centre

The Center is tailored for newcomers to Saskatoon, including refugees, permanent residents, and immigrants who are seeking to build their employability and confidence in the Saskatoon job market. Participants often come with international experience and education but require local certification, training, or workplace orientation to move forward in their careers.

NSTC is more than just training delivery. It is a comprehensive support system that includes:

  • Coordinated enrollment and follow-up support.
  • Partnerships with local organizations, training institutions.
  • A welcoming, community-centered approach to training that is accessible, culturally sensitive, and relevant.

Courses and Programs

The Center offers a range of short-term, targeted training programs that address both immediate workforce needs and the long-term career goals of participants.

How to Register

If you are already registered with ESU, please contact your Employment Counsellor to express interest in a training program. If you are not yet registered, you can complete our Registration Form using the button below or call our registration team.

Once registered, you can contact your assigned Employment Counsellor, who will provide registration instructions based on the specific training program.
