Purpose
SODS’ research collaborations and initiatives are designed to address the unique challenges faced by newcomers in Saskatoon and beyond. Through data collection, analysis, program evaluation, and collaborative studies, we gain insights into critical issues such as economic inclusion, housing accessibility, and language acquisition.

Key Focus Areas
From Settlement to Social inclusion and Cohesion SODS collaborates on academic and non-academic research to examine and influence successful newcomer settlement and integration. Our focus spans:
- Initial Settlement Needs: Language acquisition, housing, education, access and referral to essential services
- Economic Empowerment: Employment and entrepreneurship
- Community Integration: Sense of belonging, well-being, and social connections
