Translation, Interpretation and Notary Services
There is no need to let language become a barrier to getting settled. We are happy to provide a number of language-based services that help newcomers and members of the public find common ground to establish a solid foundation for success.
Our Services
Document Translation
We provide document translation services in 23 languages: Amharic, Arabic, Chinese, French, Greek, German, Italian, Japanese, Hindi, Korean, Oromo, Persian, Punjabi, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbo-Croatian, Spanish, Turkish, Tigrigna, Ukrainian, Urdu, Vietnamese. We offer certified translations of the following personal documents:
- Birth, death, marriage, and divorce certificates
- Foreign driver’s licenses
- Educational documents and diplomas
- Employment records
- Personal ID & criminal check
You do NOT need to book an appointment in advance. Original documents must be present. A deposit and accurate personal contact information are required when you place a translation request.
Translation fees and time depend on the type of the document and language. Translation typically takes two to three weeks. All translated document will be notarized and provided with an affidavit signed by the translator.
Interpretation Services
We provide interpretation services in 30 languages across the public and private sectors.
- Advance notice and details of appointment are needed to book an interpretation session.
- Interpretation requests are only accepted from the public/private sector.
Please send your request via email to translation@sods.sk.ca. Personal requests will not be accepted due to limited resources.
Notary Public Service
We will notarize a number of documents, including:
- ID declaration and Statutory Declaration
- Authorization of minor child travel
- Travel invitation and Visa request
- Certified true copies of documents
This service is only available on Wednesday morning and Friday morning.
Work for Us
We continually hire qualified, experienced interpreters and translators on a free-lance basis, by assignment. There is no regular job position or guarantee of a minimum number of hours.
