From English language classes and employment training to community engagement and entrepreneurship supports, we provide opportunities for lifelong learning and growth tailored to adult learners.
Afghan Seniors Club
Afghan Seniors Club
A program designed to specifically support and engage Afghan elders within the community by providing them with a safe and welcoming environment to connect, learn, and build a network of friends. Activities include: Afghan cultural activities, physical fitness, sessions on healthy aging, arts, crafts, events, and excursions.
Alternative Career Exploration Support (ACE)
Alternative Career Exploration Support (ACE)
Our specialized support program is designed for internationally trained professionals who are finding it difficult to secure work in their primary field and are ready to explore rewarding careers in related industries. We provide expert one-on-one guidance to help you identify how your professional skills and credentials transfer to alternative career paths. By offering current labour market information and tailored Alternative Career Action Plans, we empower you to navigate the job application process with confidence and find a new professional direction in Canada.

Chinese Women’s Support Program (华人女性活动小组)
作为新移民,适应新的环境和文化可能充满挑战。我们理解新移民华裔女性在加拿大生活中所面临的困难,并致力于为她们提供支持,帮助她们建立归属感,发掘自身潜能。本支持计划为新移民华裔女性提供一个包容、安全、鼓励参与的平台,提供所需的资源与支持,包括语言学习、职业发展、社交网络建立以及文化适应等方面的指导。
通过定期开展的工作坊、社区活动和文化交流,帮助参与者建立自信,掌握实用的技能和知识,更好地融入社区并促进个人成长。
项目将邀请专业人士开展主题讲座,并结合文化艺术兴趣活动及学习交流机会,协助参与者了解当地文化、教育资源及就业机会。参与要求:拥有加拿大永久居民(PR)华人女性

Adjusting to a new environment and culture can be challenging for newcomers. We understand the difficulties that Chinese newcomer women may face while settling in Canada, and we are committed to supporting them in building a sense of belonging and realizing their full potential. This support program provides a welcoming, safe, and inclusive space for Chinese newcomer women, offering access to essential resources and guidance. Support areas include language learning, career development, social connection, and cultural adaptation.
Through regularly scheduled workshops, community activities, and cultural exchange opportunities, participants will build confidence and gain practical skills and knowledge to better integrate into the community and support their personal growth. The program will also feature guest speakers, cultural and arts-based interest activities, and learning and peer-sharing opportunities to help participants better understand local culture, educational pathways, and employment opportunities.
Eligibility: Chinese women who have Canadian PR status

Community Gardening
Community Gardening
During the summer, newcomers can make use of the City of Saskatoon’s many community gardens to grow their own food. Our program coordinators refer newcomers to a garden in their neighbourhood and give them tips on gardening in our climate.
Community Leadership Training (CLT)
Community Leadership Training (CLT)
A series of seven monthly leadership workshops held from September-March. Participants can enjoy networking with other newcomers, learning from leadership experts, and connecting with local community leaders including newcomer community leaders. CLT is a flexible leadership program where you can attend on occasion, or complete four or more sessions to earn a certificate. Community facilitators provide training on topics such as

Conversation Circles
Join our weekly Conversation Circles to practice English, build confidence, and connect with other newcomers in a friendly and supportive environment. You will have the chance to talk about everyday life with English-speaking volunteers from Saskatoon and meet others who are also settling into Canada. This program welcomes all language levels, including Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) learners from beginner to advanced.
Creative Connections
Creative Connections
Collective and community art projects, cooking, and community garden program. These activities are offered in partnership with local organizations such as CARFAC Saskatchewan, The Food Bank and Learning Centre, City of Saskatoon, SK Arts, CHEP, and more.
Discover Canada
Discover Canada
Discover Canada is a welcoming program for newcomers at CLB 5 and above who want to strengthen their English while learning about life in Canada. Through guided discussions, practical topics, and interactive activities, participants build speaking confidence, learn about Canadian culture, history, rights, and responsibilities, and use the program as a helpful guide when studying for the Canadian citizenship test.

Our fast-track program is built for those who require immediate assistance entering the workforce. Whether you are seeking a survival job or an entry-level position, we provide rapid support through targeted resume revisions, application assistance, and the development of a concrete job search action plan. We focus on getting you job-ready in the shortest time possible.

For Men Only
For Men Only
This program supports newcomer immigrant men in their process of cultural transition in Canada and provides the opportunities for them to integrate successfully. The program includes educational discussions based on the clients’ need, weekly cooking classes where men learn new skills and improve their knowledge about both Canadian culture as well as developing respect for other cultures. Informational workshops, where guest speakers come from various government and community organizations to present for newcomer men. Guest speakers provide information, support, and referrals, as well as help build a network between the community and these new immigrant men and their families.

Individual Career Management Services (ICMS)
Our specialized guidance service is designed to help internationally trained professionals bridge the gap to Canadian licensure. We provide a clear roadmap for the credential recognition process, offering the expert support needed to navigate regulatory bodies and return to your professional field or trade. This program empowers you to reclaim your professional identity in Saskatchewan.
Requirements:
- Must become a client with the Employment Services Unit (register below) or speak to their current ESU counsellor.
- CLB 5+
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Professional education/training, qualifications or trade certification from recognized institutions outside of Canada
- Paid or unpaid work experience in a related field
- Requiring credential recognition to work in your field
- Preferably have been in Canada for at least six months
Leadership and Community Engagement (LACE)
Leadership and Community Engagement (LACE)
A cohort-based intensive leadership program designed for newcomers to enhance leadership skills. Network with community leaders, build a local network and engage in a community learning project. LACE has two cohorts per year and applicants undergo an interview process before being accepted. The program provides an in-depth exploration of various leadership aspects, complemented by hands-on practice activities and homework to further develop leadership skills. Participants will work in small groups on a community learning project to deepen their ability to effectively apply their leadership skills. Community facilitators provide training on topics such as Interpersonal communication skills, Conflict resolution, Indigenous leadership, Diversity in Leadership, Community leadership structures.
When: Two intakes per year. The program consists of 8 sessions, held on a combination of daytime Saturdays and Wednesday evenings. Open to newcomers with CLB 5 or higher.

Men’s Gardening
Men’s Gardening
This program is designed to create another opportunity for newcomer men and their family members to socialize among each other as well as with local Canadians within their communities. They learn about the importance of fresh and nutritious food and how to grow them here in Canada, practice English, share stories, network, get some support and life-skills, and become a role model for their children while teaching them about where their food comes from and why we need to care about the environment. It is also a stress-relief activity which helps newcomers gain self-confidence while they plant, water, weed, and harvest.
Men’s Recreational Club
Men’s Recreational Club
The Men’s Recreation Club program involves newcomer men participants in various sport activities such as indoor and outdoor soccer, volleyball, swimming, and table tennis practice sessions. Participants are offered information and orientation about a variety of sport/Civic centers, and recreational activities available for individuals and their family members in Saskatoon as well as the City of Saskatoon Leisure Programs for low-income families and newcomers. The activities are usually run every Monday of the same week as the For Men Only program’s sessions.

Each session focuses on topics relevant to adjusting to life in Canada, such as financial literacy and budgeting, basic home maintenance, driving rules and regulations, and other essential community supports. This workshop aims to equip newcomers with the knowledge and confidence they need to navigate daily life and thrive in their new community.

Our hybrid program is tailored to support skilled newcomers in advancing their careers. It offers a flexible blend of self-paced online learning, personalized one-on-one employment counselling, interactive group workshops, and drop-in services. With a focus on individualized support, this program is designed to help participants set and achieve their career goals with confidence.

Refugee and Immigrant Family Strengthening Program (RIFS)
The Refugee and Immigrant Family Strengthening Program (RIFS) is designed to support new Permanent Residents in adapting to life in Canada. Through interactive sessions, participants will learn about Canadian culture, communication styles, and ways to manage common challenges such as job search stress and family adjustments.
The program also helps participants identify available community resources, build confidence, and strengthen family well-being while settling into life in Saskatoon.

Step Forward is a classroom-based employment training program designed for individuals with lower English language proficiency. The program focuses on developing essential life and employability skills, helping participants effectively integrate into the Canadian workplace.
Classes are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
